Strategist by trade, creative by passion.

But let's stop with the categories here. We are all a multitude of things.

Hi there!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. To be honest, I prefer meeting in person, but since I have an "About" section, here are a few things that can help you get a little glimpse into me. No fluff, I promise.

It all started with cars

According to my parents, my first spoken word was "aku", which apparently meant cat. The second one was "Golf", referring to every car. As a kid I would always hold at least one matchbox car in my hand. I am still deeply infatuated with carsand the lifestyle around it, work with automotive clients and occasionally write for Japanese car and lifestyle magazines.

Global outlook, local understanding

Now, why Japanese magazines, you might ask? Born and raised in Germany, I felt like I had to escape my small hometown as fast as possible. Infatuated with Japanese cars, Asian culture and media, I studied Asian Studies in Bonn and Tokyo. Graduating right into the aftermath of the Lehman crisis, I started my career in Japan and have been working and living across cultures ever since.

I am proud to say that I feel home in Germany, my family's current home base, Japan and Canada.

In the trade of brands

I always wanted to do something creative, and ideally in connection with Japan and Asia. Marketing seemed obvious, but little did I know that I would get the chance to learn about the impact of brands first hand from consumers, when I started working as qualitative market researcher in Tokyo right after graduating from university. After switching sides to the marketing department of Nissan, and joining a brand and strategy-focused consultancy after attending business school for an MBA in Italy, I am still excited about brands, and what they could achieve once they are given proper attention.

Thank you for your interest in my journey thus far. I’d love to hear from you .
